Terms

Terms of service.

The fair-use rules for Humdraft. Plain English where the law allows.

Last updated: 2026-04-29 · Operator: Acumen Holdings (Humdraft)

1. The agreement

By using Humdraft (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms. If you’re using Humdraft on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization, and “you” in these Terms refers both to you personally and to that organization.

The Service is operated by Acumen Holdings (“we”, “us”). If anything in these Terms is unclear, email hello@humdraft.ai before agreeing — we’d rather answer questions than argue them later.

2. Acceptable use

Humdraft is intended for paraphrasing your own AI-assisted drafts and improving readability of writing you have the right to edit. It is a productivity tool for writers, students, freelancers, marketers, and content teams who want to polish their own work.

You agree not to use Humdraft to:

You are responsible for the text you submit, and for whether your use of any output complies with the rules of the institution, employer, or platform you’re submitting it to. Humdraft does not — and cannot — judge your intent. If you’re unsure whether your use is permitted, ask the relevant institution before relying on Humdraft.

3. Service availability

We aim for high availability but offer it on different terms by tier:

If we miss the SLA on a paid plan, contact us at hello@humdraft.ai within 30 days and we’ll credit your account pro-rata for the affected period.

4. Payment, billing, and refunds

Paid plans are billed via Stripe in advance for the period you select (monthly or annual). Prices are listed on the pricing page and are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which are added at checkout.

Refund policy: we offer a full refund within 7 days of your first paid charge on each paid plan — email us and we’ll process it. After that initial 7-day window, payments are non-refundable, and we do not pro-rate partial months when you downgrade or cancel mid-cycle. You keep access through the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

Failed payments may result in temporary suspension of paid features; your account is not deleted automatically.

5. Liability cap

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the greater of (a) US $50, or (b) the amount you paid us in subscription fees during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, or special damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or loss of goodwill, even if we’ve been advised of the possibility. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits — in those cases the limit applies to the maximum extent the law permits.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We don’t warrant that any particular detector score, paraphrase, or plagiarism result is accurate, complete, or fit for a specific purpose.

6. Termination

You can cancel your subscription anytime from your dashboard or by emailing us. On cancellation, you keep access through the end of the paid period; we don’t pro-rate refunds (see §4).

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms — in particular the acceptable-use rules in §2. We will aim to give notice and a chance to cure where the violation is minor and fixable.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (liability, governing law, restrictions on use of outputs) survive.

7. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can’t be resolved by good-faith email exchange will be resolved in the state or federal courts sitting in Delaware, and you and we both consent to that venue.

If you’re a consumer in a jurisdiction that grants you mandatory local protections, those local protections apply on top of these Terms — they are not waived.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, notify active accounts by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
